This image was taken in the studio after a formal portrait session.  I used a single light and took numerous shots of different parts of his face.  We sprayed his face with water for the sweat effect.

David is the owner of a fine Salon in Grosse Pointe Michigan.  We were shooting hair for some advertisements.  I encouraged David to pose for a few shots.  The result was one of my favorite portraits.

Ava loves to be a princess.  She also loves soccer.

I shot this image  in the early evening using a single light.  The post processing was my standard preset with the usual tweaks and adjustments.

This image of a construction worker was taken in New York City as part of a larger documentary project for a national trade magazine.

Laura Jean is a young singer and songwriter.  We have had a number of sessions in studio with her.  We’ve built sets as well as shot on location for many of her images.  Many of her photographs have worked extremely well as black and images.

This image was shot on white on location for a private airline. The Chef and company had won a number of awards for their food service.  We wanted to create an image that offered more than the chef holding the medals in a boring presentation.

This image of Ty Pennington was taken on the set of Extreme makeover – home edtion.  I had full access during the taping of the show and capture a number of excellent moments on the set.  This image is one of my favorites.

I took this photograph of a tree farmer for a local magazine.  I wanted the image to have a “Rollingstone” feel to it.  A cool tree farmer.  We waited later in the day to create the final image.  I think it was successful.

behind the scenes: A funny story behind the set up of this shoot.  We tried to set up this photo shoot for weeks.  I was on the road photographing for clients during this time. The subject was also traveling the country on his motorcycle .  It turned out we where both staying at the exact same hotel, at the same time, in Utah while trying to set up the shoot in Michigan.  We realized this fact while talking during the photo shoot.

This portrait was created for the United Association, pipe fitters union as part of a larger project.  The image was shot in natural light.  I used my custom high-contrast plugin for the post processing.

Behind the scenes: This image was the last photograph I shot for this project.  I had photographed about 60 other workers on this location.  I happen to catch this man has I was leaving and it turned out to be the best shot of the day. It is still one of my favorite images from the project.  It pays to always have your camera available.
